As part of the Coal Mining Day 2021 celebrations, an Interactive session on “Technological Advancement and Future of Coal Market in India” was organized by NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters, Ranchi on December 18, 2021.

Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD NTPC inaugurated the programme. Dr. Rajiv Shekhar, Director, IIT(ISM), Dhanbad; CMD, CCL, Shri PM Prasad; CMD, CMPDIL, Shri Manoj Kumar; Shri AK Gautam, Director (Finance); Shri CK Mondol, Director(Commercial), NTPC; Shri U K Bhattacharya, Director(Projects), Shri Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director(Coal Mining), Prof. Shalivahan, Dean(R&D), IIT(ISM), Dhanbad; and other dignitaries also took part in this interactive session.

Dr. AK Mishra, Head of Mining Department, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad presented a paper on the "Technological Advancement and Future of Coal Market of India".

A team of NTPC Coal Mining, led by Shri Sanjiv Kr. Singh, HOD(Mine Planning & Design), presented a paper on "NTPC Coal Mining - Self-Reliant".

On this occasion, NTPC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IIT(ISM), Dhanbad for Technical Consultancy for NTPC coal mines as part of Industry-Academic collaboration for mine planning, Safety, Operation, environment, Sustainability & others

This MoU was signed by Shri Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director, Coal Mining, NTPC and by Prof. Shalivahan, Dean(R&D), IIT(ISM), Dhanbad.
